It effectively absorbs excess moisture accumulating in the walls. Provided there is proper ventilation, all condensed water within the boards evaporates back into the room, which prevents the growth of mould and efflorescence.

What are the components of the SkamoWall system?

The core element of the system is the calcium silicate board – SkamoWall Basic Board. To achieve the best results, the boards should be installed using the other components of the system, which include:

  • SkamoWall Basic Adhesive – an adhesive mortar designed for fixing the boards. The adhesive is applied across the entire surface of the board, which eliminates air gaps inside the structure. This installation method enables the boards to effectively absorb moisture across the entire insulated area.
  • SkamoWall Basic Board – calcium silicate board.
  • SkamoWall Basic Mesh – reinforcing mesh to strengthen the boards.
  • SkamoWall Basic Primer – a priming agent applied to the board surface before plastering.
  • SkamoWall Basic Smooth Plaster – a smooth plaster used as the finishing layer on SkamoWall Basic Boards.

Easy and Convenient Installation

Thanks to the system-based solution, the entire SkamoWall system is easy to install. Simply use the SkamoWall Basic Adhesive mortar. Once prepared, apply the adhesive to the wall using a notched trowel. Then press the SkamoWall Basic Board onto the prepared surface and level it.

To prevent cracks in the plaster, embed the SkamoWall Basic Mesh into the boards. Finally, prime the entire surface and prepare it for applying the finishing wall layer.

How Does the SkamoWall System Work?

The SkamoWall Basic system helps regulate humidity levels inside the room. SkamoWall Basic boards contain tiny pores that allow them to absorb moisture from the air. Water naturally moves toward the driest part of a material. When the room is ventilated, the absorbed moisture is released back into the room as water vapour.
